However, it will be the hardest thing you&#8217;ll ever do.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Points of Article:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Self-help isn&#8217;t for the weak.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Beginning a self-help journey will push you harder than anything.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tips and Tricks on how to make it easier!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Helping yourself is the most difficult and rewarding thing you can ever do for yourself.<\/p>\n<cite>Mikayla Rosabeth.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you&#8217;re reading this, you&#8217;ve undergone some of the worst events humans can in this current existence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This means you&#8217;ve gotten back up, refocused your efforts, and decided that there is a different path than what&#8217;s been happening for you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>That&#8217;s the traits of someone with tenacity, strength, and perseverance if I&#8217;ve ever seen it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Someone weak would never try to help themselves.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When you begin your self-help journey, you&#8217;re going to be facing the darkest parts of you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You&#8217;re going to have to pull the strength from inside of you to face the change you&#8217;re going to face.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This is known as multiple names in a variety of life beliefs:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your shadow self: According to Carl Jung, a renowned psychologist, the shadow self is the part of you that you repress, deny, and\/or hide from yourself or others. <sup class=\"fn\" data-fn=\"b2bb966d-00ea-4874-9770-e5718ea02733\"><a id=\"b2bb966d-00ea-4874-9770-e5718ea02733-link\" href=\"#b2bb966d-00ea-4874-9770-e5718ea02733\">1<\/a><\/sup><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your demons: In spiritual texts, the part of yourself that is the darkest portion of your mind is repressed and they&#8217;re manifested as demons.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your demons: In religious texts, demons are spirits that influence a person&#8217;s character to be evil or malevolent. <sup class=\"fn\" data-fn=\"849f5358-d818-4dbf-bcc1-aff9fc17f562\"><a id=\"849f5358-d818-4dbf-bcc1-aff9fc17f562-link\" href=\"#849f5358-d818-4dbf-bcc1-aff9fc17f562\">2<\/a><\/sup><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In your self-help journey, you will face the dark side of yourself.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">This will push you harder than anything.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When you begin to face the side of you that you&#8217;ve always repressed, denied, feared, and hidden from yourself, you WILL experience some pushback from yourself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why is the self-help journey harder than anything I&#8217;ll have to face?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Scientifically speaking, the brain has a portion called the prefrontal cortex. The prefrontal cortex is the portion of your brain that&#8217;s in control of habitual patterns, thoughts, and planning. <sup class=\"fn\" data-fn=\"d389aeb7-97fb-4c8f-ba4d-1fd3ef0390bc\"><a id=\"d389aeb7-97fb-4c8f-ba4d-1fd3ef0390bc-link\" href=\"#d389aeb7-97fb-4c8f-ba4d-1fd3ef0390bc\">3<\/a><\/sup><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Simply put, when you begin changing and facing your demons, your shadow, and the parts of yourself you&#8217;ve hidden, the prefrontal cortex throws a fit because the natural habitual patterns you&#8217;ve formed are being threatened. <sup class=\"fn\" data-fn=\"5042857a-f468-43e6-9d00-8718a16a3e93\"><a id=\"5042857a-f468-43e6-9d00-8718a16a3e93-link\" href=\"#5042857a-f468-43e6-9d00-8718a16a3e93\">4<\/a><\/sup><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">This is why old habits die hard!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The brain reacts to changing and growing into a new self-help journey through anxiety, fear, and all of the emotions that you&#8217;ve already experienced.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The best advice is to keep your eye on the prize. Helping yourself become your version of success!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tips and tricks to making the self-help journey easier:<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Don&#8217;t beat yourself up when things get difficult. In the end, remember there is always a new day you can try to get better.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Breathe through the discomfort.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>View your shadow or demons as a positive.
